Indian-Americans Protest In 30 US Cities Against Citizenship Law On Republic Day

India’s 71st Republic day celebrations in the US on Sunday were marred by protests and marches, albeit peaceful ones, against recent changes in the citizenship law by large number of Indian Americans in various cities of the country.… The supporters, however, appeared to be outnumbered by protesters, who held peaceful rallies and marches in various US cities, carrying anti-CAA banners and raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanding CAA’s repeal and revocation of the proposed National Register for Citizens. Kerala RSS Worker Arrested from Coimbatore for Hurling Steel Bomb Near Police Picket

A Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) worker, has been arrested for throwing a bomb at the police post in Ponniam village near, Thalassery, Kerala. Prabesh K, of Palaparambath House in Kodakkalam, was arrested from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, by Kathirur Sub Inspector of Police M Nijeesh, The News Minute reported. The RSS worker pelted a steel bomb that exploded at Nayanar Road, at 1 am. on January 16 and fled the state soon. He was identified later from the CCTV footage. The police said that the accused has admitted to throwing the bomb near the Kathirur Manoj Seva Kendram – which is the RSS office on Nayanar Road.…

Hundreds of Huts of ‘Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants’ Razed in Bengaluru, Turns Out All Are Indians

Days after BJP MLA Arvind Limbavalli tweeted a video of shantytowns in North Bengaluru’s Kariyammana Agrahara area, claiming that the settlements belong to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, the houses were razed to the ground on Sunday and rendered thousands homeless. The electricity and water supply to the location was cut off three days ago.…the action comes after a tweet from the MLA of the constituency. On January 12, Limbavalli, MLA of Mahadevapura constituency under which this area falls tweeted aerial shots of the slum, tweeted… “The sheds were demolished around 12 noon on Saturday. People in civilian clothes asked us to clear the space. There was also a cop with them. We are not Bangladeshis. We have proof that we are Indians.
