United States Intelligence has warned that India might see communal violence ahead of the 2019 parliamentary election if the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stresses on “Hindu nationalist themes.” In a recently released report, 2019 Worldwide Threat Assessment Of The U.S. Intelligence Community, Daniel R. Hindu Priest Sets Date To Lay Foundation Stone For Ram Mandir In Ayodhya

A powerful Hindu priest said on Wednesday he would lead a group of followers to start building a Hindu temple on the ruins of a 16th-century mosque, which could violate a court order and raise religious tensions in an election year. A Hindu mob levelled the mosque in 1992, sparking communal riots that killed about 2,000 people across India. The site, in the northern town of Ayodhya, has been the focus of dispute between majority Hindus and minority Muslims for many years.…

‘Present Kottai Ameer communal harmony award’

The family of Kottai Ameer, in whose name the State Government presents a communal harmony award ever year on Republic Day, has called for continuing the tradition. In a petition submitted at the weekly grievances redress meeting here on Monday, Kottai Ameer’s son C.V.A. Jaleel said though the government gave away the Uthamar Gandhi Medal, Aringar Anna Medal and other awards this Republic Day, as it does customarily, it did not present the Kottai Ameer award….
