IMC-USA is shocked at the reports that claim arrests of scores of Muslims after the August 25 th Twin Bomb Blasts

Indian Muslim Council – USA (http://www.imc-usa.org), an advocacy group dedicated towards safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos is deeply shocked at the published news report that claims arrests of scores of Muslims after the August 25 th twin bomb blasts.

The twin bomb blasts witnessed the loss of innocent lives from all religious backgrounds. However in an apparent knee jerk reaction, desperate to cover up the administrations failure in stopping these kinds of incidents, the police always is predisposed to victimize the Muslim community in the form of arrests and torture without any due diligence and formal charges.

Indian Muslim Council-USA demands a formal justification of these kinds of abrupt arrests. IMC-USA condemns any kind of appeasement to any communal segments through these so called security measures. No community should be made a scapegoat for any election winning strategy.

IMC-USA also urges National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)of India to immediately start an investigation into the alleged harassment of innocent and helpless people and publish its findings.

IMC-USA also recommends that all the lawmakers including Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly representing Greater City of Hyderabad intervene in this matter and ensure due process upholding the law.
