The uniqueness of celebrating the Republic Day by IAMC Boston is we highlight the importance of Indian constitution and the dire need to promote and apply the rules and the laws of the Indian Constitution in the Indian society along with the creative entertainment of our outstanding team. You will enjoy each and every segment of our educational and entertaining program.
This year we have some exciting prizes for the Children’s Quiz Contest which is titled Who want to be an Informed Indian American (questions relating to India’s Republic Day, IAMC AND Indian Muslim Freedom Fighters.) It would be informative, fun, challenging and increase in complexity as it progress. So, do prepare your children for this challenge.
There will be a Sarangi Recital by renowned Sarangi Artist, Mr. Bunty Singh, along with fun filled Karaoke of patriotic songs, as well as live performances by various local Artists.
There will also be face painting for kids, henna for the ladies with lots of Desi shopping opportunity and above all the exotic Indian Food.
The Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) is pleased to inform that it maintained a booth for two days, at ICNA-MAS’ 2011 Annual convention held over the Memorial Day weekend, in Hartford, Connecticut.
Volunteers from the New Jersey, and Boston chapters manned the booth. The booth provided visitors with IAMC’s vision and projects in form of literature, and DVD’s. The IAMC booth received a steady stream of visitors. Volunteers greeted the visitors and explained the important role IAMC plays for the well being and prosperity of Muslims in India. In addition to visitors of Indian origin, visitors from other nationalities such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Egypt and of course from the USA, also stopped by at the booth.
“Encountered on the Saffron Agenda” by Subhradeep Chakraborty,DVDs were distributed to potential members. This documentary was also played on a TV in the booth, drawing intense interest from visitors.
To encourage people to sign-up for the IAMC mailing list, a raffle draw was held. An Amazon Kindle was awarded to the lucky winner Mr.Afzal Khan of New York..
We believe the booth was quite successful in generating awareness about IAMC’s various projects. Some visitors are expected to become active volunteers in the near future.
